「国際私法」では、渉外的な事実関係(当事者が外国人であるか外国に居住している、または問題の事実が外国で生じたなど、何らかの外国的な要素を含む事実関係)から生じる法的問題をどこの国の法によって解決するかという問題を中心に扱う。例えば、国際結婚・離婚、国際契約、外国での事故発生(不法行為)による損害賠償請求などがどこの国の法によるかという問題である。これらは、日本の裁判所や官公庁で問題となる場合でも、日本法によって解決するとは限らず、外国法によって解決することがある。また、演習では国籍法も扱うことがある。日本国籍の取得要件、重国籍の是非などの問題を取り上げる。 そのほか、外国語演習(英・仏)、法学入門も年度により担当する。
