    マイクロ波による誘電体・半導体・金属粉体等の加熱メカニズム解明のため、ラマン分光を主とする光学的評価手法を用いたその場観察をおこなう。マイクロ波照射下での光学測定を行うための装置開発から着手している。

    大面積に低コストで製膜可能な電気化学的手法は、多結晶薄膜の作成に於いて実績がある。本研究ではこれをエピタキシャル酸化物薄膜の作成に発展させ、新規な高効率太陽電池への応用を目指している。また窒化物半導体の成長基板として有望な高品位ZnO単結晶成長への展開についても試験・検討中である。

  • 酸化亜鉛薄膜の作製と電気的、磁気的、光学的特性に関する研究

    高品位ZnOエピタキシャル薄膜の作成と、ドーピングによる多機能化に関する研究。これまでにLi添加による強誘電性、Mn添加による誘電性と磁性、Al添加による金属的伝導性の付与に成功した。さらにZnO:Mn薄膜において単結晶に匹敵する電気光学効果の発現を達成した。さらにZnO/ZnO:Mn界面近傍に2次元電子ガスを形成させることに成功し、超高速スピンデバイスへ応用の可能性を拓いた。

    Special report:3Dプリンターを使ってものづくりをしてみたいがCADの知識がなくて躊躇している初心者の学生を対象にして実施した実践的な勉強会を企画、実施。
    まず、CADの基本と、3Dプリンター用データへの変換を学んだ。その後、自身の研究上の困りごと解決や作業の効率改善に向けて各自が提案した「もの」を実際に作成し、一部は実際の研究室で実験や実習に使用された。

    Special report:電子回路の組み立てやプログラミング未経験の学生11人を対象とした実践的な勉強会を企画、実施。
    まず、センサーや電子回路の基礎と、プログラミングの基礎を学習させる。それと平行して、電子回路で解決できる身近な課題を各自抽出させる。
    後半は、学んだことを基に、自分が考えた課題解決にむけて、センサーや回路、プログラミングを駆使して、あたらしい装置を提案し、試作、公開した。
