Dr. Jihyun Kim’s research focuses on ultra-high-energy cosmic rays (UHECRs), and she has been a key contributor to the Telescope Array project, the largest UHECR observatory in the Northern Hemisphere. She investigates their nature and origin by analyzing arrival direction distributions and spectral features. Understanding UHECRs remains one of the most important unresolved questions in modern physics and astrophysics.

Her recent work includes identifying a new excess of cosmic ray events potentially linked to the Perseus-Pisces Supercluster, as well as examining the declination dependence in the cosmic ray energy spectrum. These studies advance our understanding of how UHECRs originate and propagate across the universe.
