奨励研究（A) 1993.04
大学院：前期は講義形式で、19世紀イギリス小説の系譜や背景の解説と個別作品の分析を行い、後期は演習形式で、19世紀イギリス小説が孕む様々な問題を、精神分析学、ディコンストラクション、ニューヒストリシズム、フェミニズムといった現代理論を用いて分析し、作品の時代性とともに現代性を明らかにする。 学部専門：英文学の作品を味読しながら、文学がいかに時代や文化的事象と密接に係わっているかを、作品を比較検討することで明らかにすると同時に、それらの底流を成す普遍性にも注目する。 共通英語：読む・書く・聞く・話すの4技能のバランスのとれた学習を通して、異文化理解を深め、さらには、専門の学術論文を読む能力を高め、各学部の専門教育との連携を図る。
