    直線加速度刺激装置を用いて野生型マウスの前庭刺激を行い、眼球の動きを高解像度赤外線カメラで観察した。結果、耳石器にかかる直線加速度の方向を左右・上下と変化させても眼球の動きは常に垂直性であった。このことから、直線加速刺激時のマウスの耳石動眼反射は直線的な動きを代償するものではなく、重力加速度と直線加速度の合力で構成されるベクトルと重力との間の角度を代償する、すなわち傾斜反応としての眼球運動であると考えられた。
