    中学校で平方根を、高校1年で三角比を習ったと思います。例えば、ルート2を小数で表すと 1.41421356… になります。では、どのようにすればルート2が1.41421356… になることが分かるのでしょうか? 電卓では瞬時にルート2を計算してくれますが、その裏にはどのような仕組みがあるのでしょうか? 同じように、三角比の表はどのように作られたのでしょうか? この出前講義では平方根と三角比の近似計算について考えてみます。

    高校の数列の単元で2項間の漸化式から数列の一般項を求める方法を習ったと思います。しかし、どんな漸化式からも一般項が必ず求められるとは限りません。この出前講義では、漸化式の形から数列の各項の値がどのように変化するのか、グラフを用いて図形的に調べる方法を紹介します。また、調べた数列の性質を数学的に厳密に証明することも考えてみます。
